The width/thickness is ideal for a mirrorless or small DSLR camera (mine is a Fuji X-T2 with 35mm f/2 lens): wide enough to spread out the weight comfortably and avoid "hot spots" or digging in around your neck/shoulders, yet noticeably narrower than their regular Slide strap (which is too wide for my tastes).
The seatbelt-like material is slick so that it glides easily over your neck, shoulders, and clothing without snagging or dragging (great!), but it also has a rubberized texture at the top of the loop so that you can flip the strap over to make it "grab" your shoulder more securely and discourage that same glide effect (i.e., when you don't want it to slip).
The twin adjustable buckles are also surprisingly nice and much smoother/easier to adjust than any webbing/buckle combination I have ever used on any strap, pack, case, or other comparable shoulder-carry accessory. Seriously, that was one of the most pleasant surprises about this strap: it's a piece of cake to change the length without having to fumble or tug hard on the strap/buckles, yet once the length is set, the buckles also hold their setting very securely so that it isn't loosening up on you unexpectedly. (Awesome!).
The quick-detach, clip-in-style pucks/anchors make for a very quick, easy, convenient way to attach and detach the strap to your camera. This is great, especially when using a tripod, as it allows you to get the strap out of the way when necessary, but reattach it in a snap without the usual, tedious hassle (on other straps) of having to thread the attachment ends back and forth through tiny buckles like on most OEM straps. In my case, this is even what persuaded me to try--and now, love--this strap. I already had the wrist strap from Peak Design, and although I've often wanted to go back and forth between a wrist or neck strap, I've always just settled for a wrist strap (which I prefer about 70% of the time) because it wasn't worth the hassle of attaching and removing the typical neck strap for those intermittent times I wanted one. Now, using the same quick-detach pucks/anchors, I can swap a wrist strap for the neck strap in about three seconds, so there's no reason not to have both and use them as it suits my preference. (Hooray!)
One added benefit of using both this neck strap and the wrist strap is security. The way I've set it up on my X-T2, I attach the neck strap to the camera's left side attachment point and the (included) Peak Design tripod plate. This leaves the right sight attachment point free to clip into my wrist strap BEFORE I unhook my neck strap (or vice versa), so that means I never have to worry about dropping the camera while transitioning from one strap type to the other. That's wonderful reassurance when you're dangling $2K in camera gear from the ends of these straps.
A note about the included tripod plate. The plate itself is lighter weight (and narrower) than the original plate that came with my tripod, but it fits on just as securely because it's the same depth (between the tightening jaws of the ball head on my tripod), so I really like it. However, it came with a hex-head tripod mounting screw that also has a slot you could probably use a dime to tighten. I prefer the D-ring style screws because if you do need to remove the plate (or more likely in my case, periodically tighten it to ensure a secure attachment point), it's just a lot more convenient to flip up the little D-style lever and tighten it like a thumbscrew, without need for coins or allen wrenches. Fortunately, since they're all the same size, I just removed the hex bolt from Peak Design and installed the D-ring bolt from the original plate that came with my tripod. This has worked out great.
Lastly, as you know if you have used any other Peak Design products with the quick-attach pucks/anchors, the anchors use a three-layered Dyneema so that you can easily inspect them for worrisome abrasion/weakening. As you scratch through the outer sheath (assuming you ever manage to do so, which is unlikely), it exposes first yellow, then red to visibly alert you that the anchor needs replacement. This is a brilliant, albeit small, detail that ensures you can use these anchors with confidence and trust they will always support your expensive camera securely--or else alert you that it's time to replace them. Simply great.
If you're looking for a camera strap, yes, $50 seems expensive, but trust me: You will not find a better camera strap at any price point. This is a buy once, cry once kind of deal. This strap will serve you well and do just about anything you need a strap to do--and do it BETTER than the vast majority of anything else on the market. If there is one deficiency of this strap, it is simply with regard to style. I don't care about that, but I do have to admit it looks a little like you're wearing a seatbelt. Especially the folks who buy a Fuji camera like mine tend to prefer vintage leather straps and such. Those definitely look cooler, but they just don't offer the functionality and versatility of this product, so I recommend you go with the SlideLITE for any mirrorless or small DSLR camera. It's awesome!
Very impressed with this strap. I already own the leash from Peak Design and really liked it. It is lightweight, easily adjustable, packs away very small, and has the same quick release anchor system that the SlideLite has. Upgrading to a slightly larger camera I wanted an option that was a little more heavy duty and sturdy and I really like the SlideLite for that purpose.
The material is like a seatbelt and feels very durable and sturdy. The anchor system is great and allows for quick attachment and detachment from the camera which is one of my favorite features of the Peak Design straps. The aluminum adjustment locks are well cut and very functional while providing a nice lightweight but heavy duty lock for adjusting the length of the strap.
The strap is long enough to hang my camera at just below the hip but I prefer to keep my camera just above my hip. Adjusting the length is easy and fast with the aluminum locks. The anchors seems slightly harder to remove from the strap than the leash but it does feel very securely attached which I appreciate with my camera.
Another great feature is the rubbery silicone strips on one side of the strap. This allows you to wear those strips towards your clothes so that the strap doesn't move freely around your body. If you are using this as a shoulder strap, it keeps the strap in place and keeps your camera from falling with movement. Flip the strap around with the silicone strips away from the clothing and this makes it very easy and smooth to get your camera up for a picture very fast.
I like that this strap also comes with a tripod mount that also acts as another anchor point to hold your camera in different positions as well as allowing you to quickly attach the camera to a compatible tripod or Peak Designs capture system.
This comes with the strap, 4 anchors, the tripod/capture attachment, a hex wrench, some paper work, and a very nice pouch for holding everything together.
The strap is comfortable, simple but stylish, durable, reliable, and very functional. I think the price point is a bit high at about the $50 I paid but comparably it is very reasonable considering the price of other straps. I can't think of a single thing I would change about the strap and it is very easy to recommend.

The version I have is described as being designed for mirrorless cameras. It's still plenty wide, and I suspect that many DSLRs would still be comfortable with this. I certainly wouldn't go for the wider strap with another mirrorless.
It's still outrageously expensive for what it is, and I wonder if PD wouldn't still be quids in if they halved the cost because of the increased number of sales. Still, I'd buy it again.
